The long and the short of it
15 MayThis morning I fitted new front brake pads to the jalopy and added the missing split pin from the left hand side steering arm (refer to the 8/5).
I attempted to fit a new longer alternator belt, but this time it was too long! Unbelievable. I took it back and replaced it with the next shortest, but it’s too short. It’s a good 20minutes drive each way to the shop, and let’s say I was finding this chain of events character building! Now I’ve got the in between size on order.
No matter, I pushed it outside the factory and flushed out the radiator and the cooling passages in the block. They were all pretty clean anyway.
