27 JunIt’s off to a friend’s wedding in Wales this weekend. We had planned to use this as an evaluation weekend for the new tent, but we’ve been offered some indoor accommodation. Besides, the weather report is a bit grim! I think there is some toughening up required – 45 days driving to Mongolia should do it.
Tim has settled in well in the big smoke of London. Here is his favourite spot for lunch!
He has a job as a fabricator in Wimbledon for the next week, and we’re hoping we’ll be able to use his employer’s workshop to do some fabrication work on the Suzuki.
Here is the current list of work required to the Suzuki prior to the rally.
Pre Rally Car Maintenace Items- Change wiper blades
- Manufacture LHS front bumper mount
- Fix exhaust clearance over differential
- Inspect fuel tank leak
- Paint wheels
- Organise a set of 6 good tyres
- Mark distributor with timing intervals
- Repair front right bump stop
- Repair oil pressure light! (or fit gauge?)
- Test towing arrangement
- Check carburettor secondary throttle operation
- Secure loose flexible fuel line
- Mount one fuel jerry on rear door
- Replace rear passenger seat?
- Mount tarpaulin to rear tailgate
