No punctures for Mongolmania
25 JunTeam Mongolmania has received some in-kind sponsorship from ShieldWell, The Puncture Prevention Specialists. ShieldWell make a product which you pour into your tyre. It becomes a thick liquid, which sticks to the inside of the tyre surface. If something punctures the tyre, the liquid quickly fills in the hole, preventing any air from escaping. ShieldWell are supplying us with 2L of the product, enough to treat about six of our tyres. We’ll be able to see how well their puncture prevention cure works over a large variety of roads, and you’ll be able to read about it on our blog. Tim and I continue to work out lists of things to do and buy. Today Tim inspected the current budget tent, by pitching it in the living room. Unfortunately he only fitted in it when he slept on the diagonal. We’ve ordered another budget tent, which we plan to give a test run this weekend. We’ve also ordered a self inflating mattress, which should be a vast improvement over the 12mm foam I slept on last weekend.
