Team Mongolmania is Complete
17 JulWe’ve loaded all of our boxes, and put them in the car. There is not a lot of spare space, with the proper load to happen tomorrow afternoon in London.
The Shieldwell Puncture Protection fluid is in the new tyres. Here is Tim completing the process:
Stephen arrived in London today, completing our trio. He is looking well, and ready for adventure.
Here he is modeling our new Spot Tracker. This is the device which will track our progress across to Mongolia, so that you can view it on our google map. It works by communicating through GPS satellites. We can either send a preset message to a preset list of email addresses (or mobile phone numbers) with our global co-ordinates, send a message saying we need help to the same email addresses, or send an emergency beacon asking for immediate assistance.
We’ve been given a good price on our Spot Tracker, as our supplier is interested in how well it performs in such remote areas. If you’d like to read more about the Spot Tracker, visit www.findmespot.com. If you’d like to read about a man who used the emergency beacon in Scotland, check out this link.
Below is an article from Wednesday’s Illawarra Mercury (Wollongong, Australia) about Team Mongolmania. This is where Tim and I studied our Engineering Degrees. We’ve been doing quite well on the media front. Tim was interviewed live on Radio National (Australia) this morning.
Back in London my girlfriend Gillian has been hard at work making fancy dress costumes. The party in Germany on Sunday night has a knights and wenches theme, and we’ll be looking the part. Thanks to Gillian from Team Mongolmania.
