It’s coming together

16 Jul

A huge day at the workshop today

Tim sprays the wheels with a new coat of white

...and then gets to work putting the stickers on

Here is a picture from yesterday. Tests on the carburetor were difficult with the limited equipment we have, so this was a precisely engineered road test to measure the vacuum pressure.

This was a big day, and we celebrated by eating up a storm at the Thai buffet. We ate 4 plates each!

We worked well into the night after the meal.

On the engine side we’ve written marks on the distributor for different amounts of ignition retard, as we intend to gradually retard the ignition as the fuel quality gets worse.

We’ve blown the budget by buying 4 new tyres from Brackley Tyre Warehouse. The guys here have given us a great price however, and we are very grateful.

The spare engine has been stripped.
