Come say goodbye
14 JulAs you all know, we’ll be departing London’s Hyde Park for Mongolia on Saturday.
If you’re in London and would like to come and wave goodbye, get to the Marble Arch corner of Hyde Park at 10:30am (Apparently North Carriage Drive is the exact location). All going to plan with our trusty Suzuki, we’ll be departing at midday. You can come earlier if you please, we’ll be there from around 9am.
To ensure we start the rally with low stress levels, we’ll be unwinding over dinner and a couple of beers on Friday night. The venue is ‘The English Maid’, a boat docked on the side of the Thames near Vauxhall. This is just the place to come and say ‘Bon Voyage’. We’ll be there at 7:30pm. There is a diverse range of pub food and it’s not very expensive. View a google map for the The English Maid here.
There’ll be a stack more information about our route up on this website by Friday. Make sure you keep an eye on our blog during the rally. Although we may not be able to post at the end of every day, our satellite tracker will report on our position, and this will be updated on our google map daily. We will be writing a new post everyday, so when we get to an internet connection, you’ll get our day by day reports.
Thanks very much to the people who have donated money on our website. So far we have raised 1607 pounds for charity, and 308 pounds toward our rally costs. If you’re not interested in our adventure, then don’t worry about donating. However, if you’re getting a little pleasure from reading our blog, take the time to donate a tenner. The small amounts add up. You can read more about our charities by selecting the donate tab.
